The Rainforest

I wandered into the rainforest,
So full of slippery logs.
Yet something seemed to please me
When the monkeys tried to tease me,
When the birds made me follow
The morn and midnight fogs.

    I wandered into the rainforest,
Which was chilly and not warm.
  Yet I loved the nature
  And every small creature
And the bees that hovered above me
And then flew away with the swarm.

 I wandered into the rainforest,
From below not such a beauty.
Yet the dove messengers
And the huge vulture scavengers
Amazed me by showing me
How they were eager to perform their duty.

   I wandered into the rainforest,
Without a home, without a bed.
Yet I slept with a rabbit
And got rid of my habit
Of wanting all the  luxuries  I can get
Not necessary for life to move ahead.

I wandered into the rainforest,
Feeling all alone.
But the fir tree tried and talked to me,
It spoke to all the animals I could see.
I made a unique friend that day
Whose head was a leaf-covered cone.

I wandered into the rainforest,
Not aware of the wild.
Yet the python did not move,
It lay still in a grove,
 When I walked back home
And saw the forest as it smiled...
